The new partnership between the Tour and MDI Group will provide European Tour Members with the same ‘fast track’ access to MDI’s expertise and resources as several of the leading Premiership Football Clubs and the British Olympic Team.
MDI’s facilities will not only provide European Tour staff from the Red Bull Physio Unit with a dedicated base away from tournament sites, but MDI will also be able to provide expert clinical support and advice to the Red Bull Physio Unit staff whilst on Tour.
Jonathan Shrewsbury, Clinical Director of Sports Orthopaedics Spinal, who himself spent ten years working on The European Tour Physio Unit said: “MDI Group is delighted to be able to offer The European Tour Members access to it’s unsurpassed facilities.
“The physical demands placed on a modern day golf professional necessitate the very highest levels of medical support. We feel that our services deliver such support and can only enhance the tremendous work already carried out on Tour by the Red Bull Physio Unit.”
Guy Delacave, Director of The European Tour Physiotherapist Unit, commented: “We are delighted to strike up this relationship with MDI Group, and renew our acquaintance with an old friend and colleague in Jonathan Shrewsbury. This move is sure to enhance the range of services already available to the Tour Members through the Red Bull Physio Unit and our own highly accomplished Staff.
“Competing at the highest level in any sport nowadays puts considerable physical stress of the human body and it is important that our Members can benefit from the best medical support and healthcare available.”
